This policy (together with our terms of use and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which we Shoal Projects Limited, Radford, Woodside, Plymouth, PL4 9DQ (Company Number 4379113) also trading as Debra Searle Academy will process any personal data we collect from you, or which you provide to us, in the course of using our site DebraSearle.com. For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller.

who are we and what data do we need from you?

We are Shoal Projects Limited, a company set up by Debra Searle MVO, MBE. The registered address of Shoal Projects Limited is Radford, Woodside, Plymouth, PL4 8QE (Company Number 4379113).

Shoal Projects Limited will be known as the ‘Data Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect basic personal data about you; this does however include your name and email address.

what we do with it

All the personal data we process is processed by our staff in the UK. However, for the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance, the data that we collect from you may be transferred to, processed and/or stored at a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). By submitting your personal data, you agree to this. No third parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

how long we keep it

If you are a paying customer, we are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 (six) years. After that time, we will delete it if you instruct us to do so by contacting  hello[at]debrasearle.com.

If you are not a paying customer, the information that we use for marketing purposes will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

what we would also like to do with it

We would like to use your name and email address to inform you of our news, offers or products we may have. This information is not shared with third parties, and you can unsubscribe at any time via email or our website.

disclosure of your information

We may disclose your personal information to any of our group companies (which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 736 of the UK Companies Act 1985).

what are your rights?

If at any point you believe the information we hold on you is incorrect, you can request to see this information and even have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Protection Officer who will investigate the matter. If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
