The Journey: How To Achieve Against The Odds
Debra Searle MVO, MBE
“But what kept you going?” I’d get asked that all the time! So I sat down and thought about it for a while a realised that the strategies I had used to stay motivated while rowing solo across the Atlantic for all those months I had continued to use in my home and business life. If you want to dig deeper into my attitude tools and how I use them then this is the book for you.
Rowing it Alone
Debra Searle MVO, MBE (previously Veal)
Unbeknownst to me Andrew had been approached by a literary agent who had read some of my mid-Atlantic diary entries in a newspaper, so I returned to discover that I had a publishing deal! I had written over 60,000 words in my diary at sea and this formed the basis of the book. I had just 6 weeks after my return to get the manuscript finalized. The experience was still very raw to me and that definitely comes through in the emotion of the book.
My Reason for Hope
Author: Andrew Swift, Contributor: Debra Searle
I’m fortunate to have been asked quite a few times to contribute to books but often the fit just isn’t right. That was certainly not the case when Andrew Swift contacted me about his book on hope. In desperate times hope is sometimes all we are left to cling on to. There were times mid-Atlantic where that was the case for me so I happily contributed to this hope-filled little book.
